Penrhys tenants building a bright future for themselves with the success of their CSCS cards

Eleven Penrhys tenants will proudly receive their Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) cards.

On Thursday 21 August, eleven Penrhys tenants will proudly receive their Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) cards. The CSCS card is a recognised badge of competence and safety in the UK construction industry.

This achievement has been made possible through the close collaboration of Trivallis, Bluewater Recruitment, Communities for Work+, and Arco Training, who have supported participants in exploring rewarding careers in construction.

The group of tenants included people of all ages and backgrounds. They gained practical skills, earned valuable certifications, and discovered new confidence as they prepared to enter the workforce.

Keenan Moulding shared his experience:

“The course was great. The tutor we had was amazing. Everyone was friendly and supportive. I thought I’d be stuck in a factory, but this opportunity came up and I took it. I’ve been told I’ve got a good future ahead.”

Ebony Rees added:

“It’s been a lot of fun and I’m more confident now than I ever have been.”

This achievement is rooted in a partnership that began last year at a community event in Penrhys. At that event, residents and local organisations came together to discuss regeneration and how the community could help shape the future of the village.

Anna from Bluewater Recruitment said:

”It has been a pleasure to work alongside the Penrhys community, Trivallis and partners.”

Lisa Roberts, Community Benefits Partner, reflected on the journey:

“This was never just about finding jobs, it was about recognising the passion and potential of Penrhys. The community has so much talent, and it deserves to be seen.”

As these eleven individuals step into new roles and brighter futures, their success stands as a testament to what is possible when communities, organisations, and opportunity come together.

It’s a step towards a stronger community where ambition is built brick by brick.
