New street names announced for housing developments in Trecynon and Aberaman

14 January 2026

Two new housing developments in Trecynon and Aberaman have now been officially named, with both names reflecting the history and identity of their local areas.

Heol Sain Fagan, Trecynon

The new homes being built on Windsor Street in Trecynon will be known as Heol Sain Fagan, a name inspired by the nearby church and its long-standing place in the community.

The development will include four new family homes, each with four bedrooms. These larger homes have been designed to support families who need more space, helping to meet local housing needs.

The homes are designed to be warm, energy efficient and affordable to run, helping residents manage household costs while reducing environmental impact.

Building work is progressing well, and the homes are expected to be ready for residents in March 2026. Once complete, Heol Sain Fagan will offer high-quality homes that sit comfortably within the surrounding area.

Llys Fferm, Aberaman

The new housing development on Farm Road in Aberaman will be known as Llys Fferm.

This development will provide 22 new homes, designed for local people and families. A range of home sizes has been planned to reflect different household needs, ensuring the homes are practical, comfortable and suitable for long-term living.

All homes have been designed with energy efficiency in mind, helping to keep them warm and affordable to run.

Work on site is progressing well, and the homes are expected to be ready in September 2026.

You can see the latest progress in the drone footage below, which shows how the development is taking shape.

How the homes will be allocated

The new homes at Heol Sain Fagan and Llys Fferm will be allocated in line with local eligibility criteria for social housing.

Homes will be offered to people and families whose needs align with the size and type of home available, helping to ensure each property is fit for purpose.

This approach helps ensure homes are matched carefully to households, supporting stable tenancies and strong communities.

Building homes for the future

Both developments reflect an ongoing commitment to building good-quality homes that last, are affordable to live in and meet the needs of local communities.

By focusing on thoughtful design, energy efficiency and long-term value, these new homes will support residents now and into the future.
