After learning that a small number of her elderly tenants would be spending Christmas on their own, Community Housing Officer Ruth wanted to do something to bring a smile to them.

Through her own initiative, she got in touch with a number of local knitters, with the majority of donations coming from a group known as the Knitting Nannas. Together, they kindly donated hand made crochet lap blankets and knitted gloves to be gifted as Christmas care packages.

There are eight care packages in total, with three already allocated to her own tenants. The remaining packages are available for other elderly tenants who may also be spending Christmas alone. Ruth has wrapped the gifts ready for giving.

A huge thank you to everyone involved, especially the Knitting Nannas, for such a thoughtful gesture that truly captures the spirit of the season.
