Turning a life of giving into a community gift

At Trivallis, we see every day how acts of kindness and generosity can make a real difference in people’s lives. One story that perfectly captures this comes from Alison, whose mother Ann dedicated her life to helping others. Even after her passing, Ann’s belongings are helping to brighten homes and support families in the community.

A lasting wish

After Ann passed away from Alzheimer’s and lung cancer, her family wanted to honour her wishes. She had expressed that her belongings should go to people who needed them most. Trivallis helped make this possible, taking bedroom furniture and household items and connecting them with local tenants.  A special thank you also goes to Lucas Removals, who kindly supported the move and helped ensure everything reached the people who needed it.

Alison explains what that means to her: “Mum would just be so happy. I just know that she will be looking down on us with joy knowing that what she had has been given to somebody that needs it.”

Making a real difference

The belongings donated are more than furniture. They help create homes that feel complete and bring comfort and support to families who need it most.

Alison shares her hope for those who receive the items: “We’ve all been in a position where we need something, and if someone gives us a helping hand, it just makes you feel so grateful.”

Some items held a special place in Ann’s heart: “They are all special to Mum. Mum would give things names, so I would not be surprised if an item there has a name. Probably her wardrobes because it was full of clothes that she loved.”

Continuing a legacy

Ann’s story is a beautiful reminder that generosity can ripple out, creating lasting impact. Through Trivallis, her belongings are helping families and providing practical support.

Alison reflects on her mother’s kind donation: “Her life was about giving, and now her things are continuing that legacy.”

The items have already found new homes with tenants in Cardiff Bay, including a lady who couldn’t afford household items and an army veteran that desperately needed furniture. Ann’s belongings are now making everyday life a little easier, just as she wished.
