Life, laughter and Lola; read Neil’s story

14 March 2025

From theatre tech to master of the decks, Neil is making the most of life in David's Court.

Neil Morgan has lived at David’s Court for three years, after moving from a two-storey house in Cymmer. He loves the quiet and accessibility of his home, which he shares with his cat, Lola.

An active member of the community, Neil is the secretary of the residents’ social group. He keeps busy securing funding and organising events like film nights, bingo, quizzes, and music sessions along with the rest of the social committee. A favourite is the monthly Freddie Starr night he runs, featuring three songs, comedy sketches, and a tribute to the late entertainer.

Neil also helps plans trips, including a recent theatre visit funded after attending an awareness event in Penrhys.

Neil enjoys getting out and making connections. Having attended Trivallis’ T-Fest tenant conference, he was surprised to be reunited with old friends after 20 years.

With a background in theatre production, Neil has worked with Valleys Kids on school plays, choirs, and shows. One of his most memorable productions was The Copper Tree (1995/96), where he worked with a Croatian theatre group sharing stories from war-torn Croatia and Serbia.

At home, Neil’s love for theatre and storytelling continues. He has a backdrop on his wall that his five-year-old grandson enjoys exploring, identifying different animals. Now, he’s searching for a dinosaur-themed one to keep him entertained.

Neil’s passion for community and the arts makes him a vital part of David’s Court, bringing people together through shared experiences and meaningful connections.
