Trivallis’ Estates Team hit the ground running, tackling overgrown areas, cleaning communal spaces, tackling litter, and giving the railings a fresh start with jet washing.

At the heart of the day’s success was St Luke’s Church, which became a welcoming hub for residents and teams. With generous hospitality, they served delicious food and refreshments that fuelled the day’s efforts. They also shared the inspiring work of their weekly soup kitchen, inviting everyone to join them every Tuesday for a hot meal and community support.

Lucy, Trivallis’ Community Development Partner, was stationed at the church, creating a space where residents could voice their thoughts  and explore how to make Glanfelin Flats even better.

Lucy explained: “I had the opportunity to speak with some residents about where they lived and what they loved about their estate. It was also great to speak with members of the church about what great things they are doing for the community.

“We’ll be working closely with the community and seeing how we can bring more groups together to share what amazing things they are doing to benefit those living in the area.”

RCT Council Awareness and Enforcement Team went door to door, talking to residents about managing their waste.  They answered questions, distributed recycling bags, and raised  awareness, giving the community practical tools to keep the estate clean and organised.

Local Councillor Cathy Lisles joined the efforts, connecting with residents, church members, and Trivallis staff. She said: “It was a great team effort by everyone on the day. It was an opportunity for residents to have conversations about they would like to see in their community and how we can all come together to make positive changes.”
