On Thursday, 16 January, teams from Trivallis, Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT) Council and the community joined forces to make a real difference in Capel Farm, Tonyrefail.

By working together, we took steps toward improving the area and creating a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming environment for everyone.

Trivallis Housing Landlord Wales Two individuals stand outside in front of a two-story residential building. Both are holding papers or notebooks. The woman wears a long dark coat, and the man has a dark jacket. They are next to a brick wall and iron gate. The sky is clear and blue.

With a shared commitment to positive change, Trivallis’ Estates Team and RCT Council’s Cleansing Team rolled up their sleeves and got to work. Grass and hedges were cut back, waste and fly-tipping were removed, paths were cleared, and the road sweeper was out, helping to brighten up the area.

A pleased local resident, happy with the outcomes of the estate day said: “It was a pleasure to walk home!”

Members from Trivallis’ neighbourhoods, repairs and involvement teams also took the time to engage directly with residents through door-knocking. Conversations focused on how we can continue to make positive changes together, having conversations about any outstanding repairs and encouraging residents to get involved in shaping their community’s future.

RCT Council’s Enforcement Team were also on hand to provide guidance on recycling and effective waste management, handing out recycling bags and food bins, ensuring that everyone has the information they need to keep Capel Farm looking its best.

A huge thank you goes to Capel Farm Resource Centre for offering refreshments and a welcoming space for everyone to come together throughout the day. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect, share ideas, and strengthen the sense of community that makes Capel Farm such a great place.

This is just a small part of the ongoing partnership work in the area and making Capel Farm a Great Estate.
