Penrhys are being invited to help shape local celebrations ahead of one of the world’s biggest sporting events coming to Wales.

The Tour de France will arrive in Wales in 2027, bringing international attention to communities across the route. As plans begin to take shape, local people are being encouraged to get involved and help make sure Penrhys plays a memorable part in the occasion.

An information session is being held at Penrhys Primary School on Wednesday 8 July, giving members of the community the opportunity to share ideas and learn how they can take part in any activities.

We’re looking for community minded people who would like to help bring ideas to life in the lead up to the race. Whether you enjoy organising events, supporting local projects, getting creative with decorations, helping behind the scenes or simply want to learn more, there are plenty of ways to get involved.

This is an opportunity for local people to come together, celebrate community spirit and help create a welcoming atmosphere that showcases everything that makes Penrhys special.

The session will also give the chance to hear more about the opportunities the Tour de France could bring to the area and discuss ways the community can make the most of this once in a generation event.
