Porth Decides

26 January 2026

Your £5k, Your Community, Your Choice

How will you spend £5,000 to make Porth even better?

As part of the development of the former Button Factory site, our partners Bluefield Land have provided a pot of money to be spent right here in our community. And who knows our community better than its residents? That’s why you get to decide how this money is used!

Whether you have a brilliant idea or just want to support the projects that inspire you, there are two ways to get involved:

  1. Pitch your idea – share a project that could make a real difference.
  2. Vote for your favourites – help choose the initiatives that matter most to you.

Have an Idea? Let’s Make It Happen!

Got a fantastic idea, or know someone who does? We’ve made it easy to apply.

How to submit your idea:

Complete this form

Or email lisa.roberts@trivallis.co.uk

It only takes a few minutes to make a simple application. If you have questions or need support, our team is ready to help every step of the way.

Please complete your submission by midday on Wednesday 04 February.

Voting: Make Your Voice Heard

Once all pitches are in, it’s time for the community to have its say. You can register to vote online or in person for the projects that excite you the most.

Online voting and event registration opens on Thursday 05 February 2026 and closes on Wednesday 11 February at Midday.

On that date, please click here.

Prefer a face-to-face experience? Join us at our in-person event in Cymmer Primary school, 6-8pm on Wednesday 11 February, where you can:

  • Meet the project teams
  • Hear their pitches in person
  • Vote on the spot
  • Enjoy refreshments and connect with your neighbours

Register for the event via the same link above, when it has appeared.

What to Expect

What’s Happening?

We’re bringing residents together to:

  • Discover local project ideas
  • Decide which projects receive funding from the Community Benefit Fund (thanks to Bluefield Land!)

How It Works

  • Hear, watch, or read short pitches from community projects
  • Score each idea using simple, friendly criteria
  • Your votes decide what gets funded
  • At the event you can meet fellow residents, enjoy refreshments, and connect

Who Can Take Part?

  • Residents of Porth, Cymmer and nearby areas
  • One vote per household
  • If you’re involved in a proposal, you simply don’t vote on that one

What Can Be Funded?

  • Local ideas that bring people together
  • Projects that strengthen the community
  • Activities that can start before the end of March 2026
  • Groups with an income of £100k or less

Please note: Funding cannot be used for wages, religious/political activity, or projects benefiting only a few.

Get Involved – Shape Your Community!

This is your chance to make a real impact in Porth. Whether you have a big idea or just a keen eye for what could make a difference, your voice matters.
