Every community has ideas. Some are small and simple. Some are bold and ambitious.
But all of them can make a difference — with a little help.

The Small Sparks, Big Ideas Fund offers small grants of up to £1,100 to help neighbours turn good ideas into real projects that brighten local streets, bring people together, and strengthen communities with Trivallis homes South East Wales. There is around £1100 available to each Trivallis Community Housing Officer patch so it’s a great idea to chat to other groups in your neighbourhood.

Your idea doesn’t need to be big.
It just needs to matter.
And we might have the spark you need to help it grow.

Why Small Sparks?

We know that people who live in a place understand it best.
You see the quiet corners that need colour, the neighbours who would love an event, or the shared spaces that could feel more welcoming.

What many communities need isn’t a huge budget; just a small spark of support to get things moving.

That’s exactly what this fund is for.

Who Can Apply?

Any community group, resident group, or sheltered housing scheme in a South East Wales community with Trivallis homes.
No long forms, no complicated jargon. You can even apply with a simple phone video.

If your idea:

  1. Brings people together, and
  2. Makes your local area better,

…then it’s the kind of idea this fund is designed to support.

Big ideas. Small ideas. Early ideas. Well-developed ideas.
They all matter — and a small spark can help every one of them make a big impact.

What Can a Small Spark Help With?

Your idea might be:

  • A bright planter project for a grey corner
  • A local get-together to reconnect neighbours
  • Craft, wellbeing, or activity sessions
  • A small community celebration
  • Equipment to help a group grow or restart
  • Improvements to a shared space everyone uses

If it helps people feel more connected or proud of where they live, we want to hear it.

Support Along the Way

If you’re unsure whether your idea fits, talk to your Community Housing Officer or Community Development Partner.
They can help shape your idea and guide you through the simple application process.
