My Trivallis

Great Community Day at Llandraw Court. A big thank you to everyone who got stuck in!

Recently our tenants, Trivallis staff, Interlink, and Hope Rescue all rolled up their sleeves, shared ideas, and worked side-by-side to improve the space at Llandraw Court. This was part of the Out and About visits this summer, it was a brilliant example of what happens when we come together to make a difference.

The day was about more than just tidying up the outdoor space. It was about having real conversations, listening to tenants’ concerns and learning how to support the neighbourhood.

Rolling up our sleeves

The morning kicked off with compost deliveries, flower beds being built, and extra tables and chairs set up so everyone could get comfy. The team of volunteers sanded and varnished the garden bench, planters were filled, and flowers were added to bring colour to the space. The Community Involvement Team had teas, coffees, and water ready for tenants to drop by.

“We believe the best ideas start with a chat, and today, we were able to have plenty of those real conversations,” said Lucy, our Community Development Partner.

“It’s about listening, learning, and working with the community to make real change happen.”

Planting, chatting, and making a difference

The garden space was soon full of colour and activity. Flowers and shrubs were planted, litter was cleared, and the space began to feel brighter and more welcoming. Some residents got stuck into the planting, others enjoyed sitting back and having a chat, and everyone had the chance to be part of the day in their own way.

Martin, an involved tenant volunteer, said: “There’s been a lot of activities today, everyone’s been really friendly. And for the people that live here, for once they’ll have something that’s quite tidy.”

More than just a tidy up

Staff and tenants shared stories, swapped ideas, and planned for the future together. Debra, who helped lead the activities, said: “We’re not just improving the outdoor space. We’re building relationships, empowering each other, and creating a community we can all be proud of.”

Come say hello!
